About the role
This is a rare opportunity to step into a key leadership role at the centre of the firm's strategy.
Reporting to the Chief Client Experience Officer (CCXO), you will lead the firm's approach to client relationships - shaping strategy, leveraging best-practice and embedding a truly client-led mindset across the business.
You will play a critical role in driving a coordinated, whole-of-firm approach to business development, ensuring our practice, client and broader growth strategies are grounded in meaningful insight and aligned to where we can deliver the greatest impact.
As both a strategic leader and hands-on practitioner, you will work closely with Partners and business leaders to influence outcomes on key client relationships, major profiling opportunities and priority growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the firm's client relationship strategy, ensuring alignment with firm priorities and growth ambitions
- Act as a trusted adviser to Partners on complex client and referrer relationships, major opportunities and cross-firm collaboration
- Lead the firm's key client program, including client selection, governance, service standards and performance tracking
- Partner with practice and sector leaders to shape and deliver growth strategies and priority client initiatives
- Ensure business development and marketing activity is grounded in strong client and market insights
- Lead and coach a high-performing Client Relationship team
- Identify and progress emerging client opportunities, including cross-practice and cross-sector initiatives
- Role model best-practice client relationship management and coach teams in client-led behaviours and collaboration
- Establish and track performance metrics for client activity, providing insights to senior stakeholders and driving continuous improvement
About You
You are a commercially minded leader with deep experience in client relationship management and business development within a professional services environment.
- Significant experience (10+ years) in client relationship management, BD or growth roles within a law firm or professional services environment
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams
- Experience designing or leading key client programs
- Strong influencing skills and ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders in a partnership environment
- Proven ability to translate client and market insight into practical, commercially impactful strategies
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how firms grow sustainably
- Tertiary qualifications in business or a related discipline
